Ed Eisenberg

CPC, ELI-MP

Ed Eisenberg spent several decades working in large, multinational corporations including AT&T, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Sanofi.

Upon retiring at the age of 60 in December 2017, Ed was reminded that the most personally rewarding aspect of his career was the ongoing opportunity to coach and develop people, helping them to identify their strengths, break down barriers to success, create plans, set goals, and advance in their own careers. With this in mind, he has been certified by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) as both a Professional Coach (CPC) and Energy Leadership™ Index-Master Practitioner (ELI-MP).

Ed’s focus is on developing healthy mindsets, as well as on helping people transition into new phases of life—with a special interest in coaching pre- and new retirees. You can learn more about Ed’s career as well as view personal references and testimonies by visiting his LinkedIn page. Also follow New True North Coaching on Facebook.

Ed is an avid outdoorsman and former competitive swimmer who enjoys anything that puts him on or near the water, especially boating, fishing, and kayaking. He’s also a disc golf enthusiast who enjoys a round with fellow golfers as well as playing solo with his sidekick Golden Retriever, Sunny. When he’s not on the water or the golf course, Ed keeps busy tending the farm, mending fences, caring for horses, chickens, and gardens.

He’s been married to his wife, Andie, for 37 years, whom he met when they were students at the University of Miami, FL. Their daughter, Jillian, son-in-law, John, and grandson, Jack, live nearby and Ed relishes the time he can spend with his family exploring Old Hickory Lake and all the natural beauty and history of Middle Tennessee.

Things To Consider Regarding Retirement

• Retirement is not easier than other phases of life, it’s just different.

• Retirement is arguably the biggest transition you’ll make in your lifetime.

• It’s important to plan how you’ll realistically spend your time during retirement given the resources available to you, your needs, the needs of those around you, any limitations you have, and the support available to you.

• There are lots of moving pieces in retirement and each person’s puzzle is unique onto themselves.

• Most people have very little experience in this phase of life - it’s very different than other phases and it might not be the way we envisioned it.

• Finding new ways to motivate yourself can be challenging.

Energy Leadership Index Logo

The Energy Leadership™ Index (ELI) assessment is the proprietary, research-backed assessment tool that takes something abstract, like the way a person views the world, and turns it into something tangible—a metric that you can see and feel and even reevaluate in the future.

Once you realize that your level of awareness, or consciousness, is directly tied to your actions, you can move from functioning effectively, to functioning optimally. There are no limits to the growth you can achieve.

As an Energy Leadership Index (E.L.I.) Master Practitioner, I’m certified in providing the E.L.I. assessment and debriefing the results. This one-of-a-kind assessment enables you to identify and understand your perceptions, attitudes, behaviors, and overall leadership capabilities – effectively changing the way you view the world, and setting you free from the ways of thinking that hold you back and keep your voice too quiet or altogether silenced.

Energetic Self Perception Chart

As part of this process, you’ll learn about the 7 levels of leadership. While you’re debriefed on the findings of the assessment, you’ll also receive insights on how to navigate to higher levels of performance in order to start unleashing your voice and living the life you’ve imagined.

Testimonials

“Before coaching with Ed, I felt stuck in my career, but didn’t know where to begin to make changes. The coaching process gave me insights into my own personal traits and how they affect my decision making, whether good or bad. Since working with Ed, my new-found focus has made a positive impact on both my professional and personal lives. I no longer have that ‘stuck” feeling and have gained new insights into the next phase of my career.”

“I’m full of ideas, perhaps too many, and I could have spent years filled with uncertainty about whether I’m spending my life the “right” way. So, I consulted Ed, who has expertise in guiding people with retirement, a huge shift in lifestyle. You can learn from books but you’ll have to wade through hundreds of pages to find the information that’s useful and relevant for you, and much will be a distraction. Same goes for videos. You can learn from friends and family, but that’ll their own personal agendas that bias the advice they’ll share with you. You can learn from elders, but they too will have biases based on their own story and regrets. What Ed gave me was unbiased and targeted advice. He never told me what to do or not do. Rather, he suggested perspectives. The coaching felt complete after just 4 sessions. He listened acutely to where I was at, what I was doing, what I had done and want to do, quickly gained insight into my personality and values, and connected these with his vast experiences helping others to deliver insight that helped shape and sharpen my thoughts. Ed used questioning, penetration and exercises to guide me along. At my next crossroads, I’ll be talking with Ed again. I can recommend Ed to any thinking person who needs a catalyst for finding direction.”

Ozy A.

“Before coaching with Ed, I had hit a hard plateau with my career. Working with Ed enabled me to create an actionable plan for necessary progress. The coaching process was surprisingly easy and interesting. The most valuable tool that I took away from working with Ed was the power of perspective and learning how slight shifts in thought patterns and approaches to the world around you can affect lasting changes. I now feel that I better understand the direction I am taking.”
